Habitrol Patch can help you stop smoking with a step-down program that reduces your nicotine intake gradually.  Habitrol is available in three nicotine dosage strengths, each corresponding to different patch size.  Habitrol Patch bulk boxes contain 28 transdermal nicotine patches.  They are opaque and circular.

Habitrol Step 1 (30 cm² patch) 52.5 mg nicotine patch (release rate 21mg nicotine per 24 hours).  Habitrol Step 2 (20 cm² patch) 35 mg nicotine patch (release rate 14 mg nicotine per 24 hours).  Habitrol Step 3 (10 cm² patch) 17.5 mg nicotine patch (release rate 7 mg nicotine per 24 hours). 

Instructions

Apply one patch at the same time of the day.  Use every day.  Press the patch firmly onto clean, dry skin, holding it in place for 25 seconds.  Do not re-apply to the same skin location for three days. 

Stop smoking and apply one patch daily according to the Usage Program. 

• If you smoke 20 or more cigarettes per day, start with Habitrol Step 1. Use for 3 to 4 weeks.  Then move to Habitrol Step 2.  Use for 3 to 4 weeks.  Then proceed to Habitrol Step 3.  Use for 3 to 4 weeks. 
• If you smoke less than 20 cigarettes a day, start with Habitrol Step 2. Use for 6 to 8 weeks.  Then move to Habitrol Step 3.  Use for 3 to 4 weeks. 

If you relapsed in the past, or you experience cravings while using either Habitrol Patch, Gum, or Lozenge on its own, then you can combine the use of Habitrol Patch with Habitrol Gum 2mg or Habitrol Patch with Habitrol Lozenge 1mg. 

Ingredients

The active ingredient is nicotine.  The inactive ingredients are coconut oil_gractionated, durotak 280-2516, and methacrylic acid copolymer. 

Warnings

Do not use if:                                                                                                  

• You are a non-smoker
• You have a generalized skin disorder
• You are allergic to nicotine or any component of the patch
• The sachet seal is broken
• You had a recent stroke or heart attack
• You have angina
• You have severe arrhythmia
• You have uncontrolled high blood pressure.
• You are under 18 years of age
• You are pregnant or breastfeeding
• You have severe high blood pressure
• You have heart or blood vessel disease
• You have kidney or liver disease
• You have diabetes
• You have an overactive thyroid
• You have adrenal gland cancer.

Storage

Keep the patch in the sachet pack inside the carton until you are ready to use it—store below 30°C.  Do not refrigerate.  Do not leave it in the car.
